Subject: Lake Malchow

Lake Malchow is a nature reserve in the district of Hohenschoenhausen. Round the lake you can find small beaches and also playgrounds for children. In former times the lake was used to water the fields that were around it.

Our school is not far away (around 200 metres). In the beginning of the sixties waste water was pumped in it which caused great damages to the nature. Even today the lake has not totally recovered. People have tried to clean it with filters but had only little success. Today you find lots of  birds and insects at the lake and from time to time you can see rabbits.
